About TNT

In 1988, a man named Bruce Cleland had an idea. His two-year-old daughter Georgia had been diagnosed with luekemia and her chances of surviving were 50/50. Bruce decided to get a group of people together to run the New York City Marathon as a fundraiser for blood cancer research.

Together, this group of 38 runners raised $320,000 and crossed the finish line in honor of Georgia. That was the very first "Team In Training" and they are pictured above following one of their group training runs.

Today Georgia is all grown up and doing well. She has even participated in TNT events! Since 1988, TNT has trained more than 600,000 participants to cross the finish lines in marathons, half marathons, triathlons and bike rides and we have raised over $1.3 billion for research and advocacy. Bruce surely had no idea what would happen when he set out on his journey, but his idea lives on in each of us as we continue towards the finish line in the race to end blood cancer.

GO TEAM!
